PT. Inco?s 2002 operating earnings soar

Canadian nickel and copper miner Inco limited reported on Monday that its Indonesian nickel mining unit PT. Inco Tbk, booked 2002 operating earnings of US$ 53 million, higher than previous year?s earnings of $ 34 million. PT. Inco?s fouth quarter 2002 operating earnings are $ 9 million, versus $ 11 million lost in last year?s corresponding quarter.
Operating results comprise earnings or loss before income and mining taxes, interest expense, other income or expenses, and minority interest.
PT. Inco operates huge nickel mining operations in South Sulawesi. Inco Limited holds 58.7 percent shares in PT. Inco. (alex)
