PT Inco to develop Mangkasa Point deep sea port

Publicly-listed nickel miner PT International Nickel Indonesia Tbk plans to further develop the Mangkasa Point deep sea port at the northern tip of Bone Gulf in southern Sulawesi to support its mining operation.
?PT Inco management wishes to study the feasibility of consolidating all port activities to the one location at Mangkasa Point,? the company said in its recent preliminary invitation to tender.
Inco currently operate two ports to support its nickel mining operation at Soroako, South Sulawesi, that is the Balantang port on the Larona river, which is used for bulk shipments and general cargo, and Mangkasa Point, which is currently dedicated as a fuel and oil terminal.
Inco said any companies interested in the project should register with the company by October 16 October 2004. (robert)
