PT Perkasa Inakerta ready to start coal operation in East Kalimantan

PT Perkasa Inakerta (PIK) is ready to operate coal mining sites in Bengalon Dalam distric, East Kutai regency, East Kalimantan, with expected production level to reach 30,000 tons in the first month, and 34,000 tons per month between the second and the sixth month.

The Kaltim Post daily reported Saturday that PIK, which holds the third generation contract of work, will exploit an area of 24,720 hectare, of which 199.55 ha for pilot mining activity.

The paper said that the area has measure coal reserves of 58.63 million tons; indicated reserves of 34.47 million tons, and estimate reserves of 23.08 million tons.(*)
