PT PJB opens coal supply tender

PT Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali (PT PJB), a subsidiary of state-owned electricity firm PT PLN, unveiled pre-qualification tender for the supply of coal for its Paiton 1 and 2 power plants in East Java.
The company said in a tender announcement seen Saturday it was seeking to buy coal with calorific value of 4,900 kcal/kg. The company, however, did not specify the volume.
The company set several administrative requirements for bidders, both individual coal miners and consortium, to be eligible to participate in the tender including special requirements of ?clean and clear? of their mining permit, and having a minimum production capacity of 75,000 tons per month during the past six months. The coal mine must have uncommitted reserves of at least 3.6 million tons.
PT PJB said bidders can take the PQ document and make registration on February 13-20 at the following address: PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali, Jl Ketintang Baru No 11, Surabaya, East Java. The PQ documents can be submitted on February 16-23.
