PT Timah ties up with port operator PT Pelindo II

State owned tin mining company PT Timah will build its own pier in Tanjung Pandan port in Bangka-Belitung, South Sumatra in cooperation with the port operator, state owned port management company PT Pelindo II, Neraca reported on Monday.
With the cooperation, PT Timah will use its own pier in transporting its tin either for local or overseas shipment, Sudjarwo, the spokesman for the port operator, said in Jakarta on Saturday.
Besides PT Timah, several private companies such as PT Irpau and PT BT Jaya have also built their own piers at the Tanjung Pandan port, which is located in Bangka-Belitung province.
The newly established province has five other seaports including Pangkal Balam, Mentok, Belinyu and Sungai Liot. Tanjung Pandan and Balam ports are operated by PT Pelindo II. (*)
