PT Timah and coal mining company PT Bukit Asam will jointly build a coal-fired power plant in Tanjung Ular, West Bangka regency to meet the power need of a tin chemical plant to be built in the area, Media Indonesia reported on Thursday.

?The tin chemical plant will require large electricity supply. We will spend a lot of money if we provide the electricity supply from diesel power generators,? PT Timah?s president director Sukrisno said.

The power plant, which will have a capacity of 2x7MW, will also provide electricity to other industries near the tin chemical plant which will be built and owned by PT Timah.(*)
