PTBA’s coal sales up, output slightly decreases.

State coal miner PT. Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) said Tuesday that coal sales until the end third quarter of 2006 slightly rose to 7.38 million tons from last year’s sales of 7.17 million tons.
Output in third quarter of this year reached 2.39 million tons of coal with sales 2.6 million tons, the company said.
The company’s cumulative until the end of this quarter slightly declined to 6.61 million tons from 6.74 million tons in the correspondent 2005 period.
The company earned a net income of Rp374.13 billion (USS41.1 million), it rose from Rp364.94 billion in year earlier.
On August, PTBA’s corporate secretary Milawarma said that sales volume may increase to 10.5 metric tons this year, from 9.9 million tons in 2005.
PTBA is targeting to produce more than 9 million tons this year from its South Sumatra mine. (denny)
