IDX-listed coal giant PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) aims to have at least a combined 2,500 MW power plants by 2020, which is projected to contribute about 30 percent to the company?s total revenue.

?Probably by 2019 or 2020, the power plant business will account for about 30 percent of total revenue,? said PTBA Director Achmad Sudarto last week.

He said that the company?s power plant division currently has total capacity of 200 MW. He said that the aforementioned target can be achieved if the company?s 2x660 MW coal-fired power plant project in Banko Tengah, South Sumatra, and a 1,200 MW coal-fired power plant project in Peranap, Riau, can be completed on schedule.

He said that for every 1 MW of capacity, the company projected revenue of about Rp 1 billion per year. Based on such assumption, the company hopes to obtain revenue of more than Rp 2 trillion from the power plant business by 2020.
