IDX-listed coal giant PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) aims to more than double its coal sales volume by 2020 to 48 million tons.

This was said by PTBA President Director Arviyan Arifin as quoted by Antara on Friday. He added that sales volume will be further boosted to 98 million tons by 2025. He did not elaborate.

PTBA this year expects to have a sales volume of 23 million tons, a downward revision from the initial target pf 29 million tons due to limited railway transportation capacity.

?Production is not a problem since we work 24/7. We are now facing a transportation issue,? Arviyan told Antara.

Production this year is estimated at 21 million tons, up from 19 million tons last year.

Elsewhere, Arviyan said that the company aims to further expand its power plant business, targeting to have total capacity of 1,900 MW by 2020, and to 4,200 MW by 2025.

PTBA, which currently operates power plants with combined capacity of 200 MW, said previously it wanted the power plant business to account for 30 percent of revenue by 2020. (*)
