State coal miner PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) said that it has asked to PT Indonesia Power?s Suralaya power plant to increase its coal price about 28 percent from current price for next year?s supply.

?PTBA is still in negotiation with Suralaya. PTBA hopes that the negotiation will be settled in the first quarter 2008,? PTBA?s investor relation officer Nurtimah Tobing told Petromindo.Com on Tuesday.

PTBA now sells its coal for Suralaya at Rp 374,912 (US$=RP.9,300) per ton on 5,900 kcal/kg CV and CIF basis. The price was settled in July 2007.

PTBA is expected to supply around 5.1 million tons of coal next year, the same with this year?s supply, she said. (denny)
