IDX-listed coal miner PT Bukit Asam Tbk has asked for supports from Indonesian Police to protect its vital assets, including the ongoing development of mine-mouth power plants and mining sites in order to ensure sustainable supply of coal to the state-owned electricity company PT PLN.
The request was made during its meeting with National Police head Gen. Timor Pradopo on Monday.
"With the support from the National Police, PTBA could work with ongoing vital projects in the region," President Director of PTBA Milawarma said in the statement.
He said that the company supplied about 50 percent of coal used to generate power in Jawa-Bali grid system.
Milawarma also raised the overlapping problems issue on its mining concession areas which was now handled by the Corruption Eradication Commissions (KPK).
