PTBA clinches coal price deal with Indonesia Power

IDX-listed state coal miner PT. Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) said on Thursday it has clinched a deal on price for coal to be sold to PT Indonesia Power (IP).

PTBA said in a statement filed with in the bourse that the firm will sell its coal to IP at Rp 685,000 (US$= Rp 9,300) per ton CIF this year.

PTBA and IP have agreed to supply 5.5 million tons of coal to the Suralaya coal fired power plant in Banten owned by IP, a decrease by 600,000 tons from 6.1 million tons in the same period of last year.

The price is effective for the supply as from Jan. 1,2010 through Dec. 31,2010

last year, IP paid Rp.884,000 per ton CIF for PTBA's coal. (denny)
