PTBA completes S. Sumatra giant power plant FS

Corporate secretary Milawarma said that currently, PTBA with partner China Huadian are in talks with state electricity firm PLN to negotiate Power purchase Agreement (PPA). He did not say when negotiation was expected to be concluded.
The power plant, when operating on full capacity, is expected to consume 10 million tones of PTBA?s coal per annum, Milawarma said. The plant is expected to come onstream in 2010-2012.
Elsewhere, Milawarma said that construction of the Banjarsari 2x100 MW coal-fired power plant, also in South Sumatra, is expected to commence in 2007, with EPC tender to be opened mid- year.
PTBA has 41 percent stake in the project, with PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (PJB), a subsidiary of s PLN, and PT Navigat Innovative hold 20 percent and 39 percent, respectively. (godang)
