State coal mining firm PT.Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) is unable to meet its contractual obligation to supply 6-6.2 million tonnes of coal to Indonesia Power’s Suralaya power plant due to poor railway condition, a company official said on Friday.
PTBA CEO Soekrisno told Petromindo.Com that supply volume to Suralaya would be cut by 1 million tonnes this year, about similar to last year’s supply volume of 5.5 million tonnes.
Indonesia Power Director Achmad Sadikin said that the company has agreed to lower supply and would search the undelivered volume in spot market.
Indonesia Power operates Suralaya 3,400-MW power plant complex, which consumes around 10 million tonnes of coal per year. (godang)
