IDX-listed coal miner PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) has delayed the groundbreaking of Sumsel 8 mine mouth power plant project in South Sumatra, initially scheduled for September 15, as Vice President Jusuf Kalla was not available to lead the groundbreaking ceremony on the particular date.

"Since the Vice President was unavailable on that day, the groundbreaking has been delayed and rescheduled," PTBA Corporate Secretary Joko Pramono said to Petromindo on Wednesday. PTBA is currently waiting for the new schedule of the vice president.

The 2x630 MW mine mouth power plant, to be located in Banko Tengah, is a joint venture project between PTBA and China's state-owned company Huadian Group.
