State owned coal miner PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) has denied a report that it had signed a contract to sell 6 million tons of coal per year to India Spice Energy.
Reuters quoted India Spice Energy's CEO Ravi Chilikuri as saying the firm had signed an agreement with PTBA to provide 6 million tons of coal per year from 2011 for a 1,000 MW power plant the firm plans to build in southern India.
However, PTBA's Head of Investors Relation Nurtimah Tobing said: "PTBA has not signed any contract/agreement with Spice Energy." (Denny)
