PTBA first-half net profit jumps 33%

The company said in a statement obtained Monday that net profit in the first six-month of this year rose to Rp 1.16 trillion compared to Rp 870 billion in the same period of last year.
It added that revenue in the January-June period of this year increased by 18 percent to Rp 6.43 trillion compared to Rp 5.43 trillion in the corresponding period of last year.
Sales volume in the first half of this year increased to 8.83 million tons from 8.74 million tons in the same period of last year. The company saw average selling price rose by 17 percent to Rp 726,766 per ton, compared to the average selling price of Rp 621,792 per ton in the same period of last year.
Meanwhile, EBITDA margin was recorded at 26 percent, while net profit margin at 18 percent, a slight increase of 2 percent of last year?s margin.
Elsewhere, PTBA said production volume in the first semester of this year rose by 16 percent to 7.70 million tons from 6.66 million tons in the first semester of last year. Average stripping ratio was 4.07 percent, compared to 4.21 percent in the first six-month period of last year.
Meanwhile, coal purchase by subsidiary from third parties during the period reached 1.06 million tons.
PTBA said that the company expected to complete in the second semester of this year the capacity expansion of the Tarahan port in Lampung, from 13 million tons per annum to 25 mtpa.
