State-owned coal miner PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) said on Friday that state-owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has requested to get more coal for its power plants

PTBA's president director Sukrisno said that PLN asked additional 2 million tons (MT) of coal for next year. He said that PLN needed to procure the coal for its Indramayu power plant in West Java and Labuan power plant in Banten.

?Currently, we are talking about the request. PLN asks for an FOB basis (price), which is different with Suralaya's current contract (price), which is (set on ) CIF basis,? he said.

At present, PTBA supplies about 8 million tons to PLN?s power plant. The power plants are Suralaya power plant (6.1 million tons), Tarahan power plant (800,000 tons) and Bukit Asam power plant (1.1 million tons), he added. (bernard)
