PTBA increases coal price for Suralaya

IDX-listed state coal mining firm PT. Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam said on Friday it would increase the price of its coal supplies for the 3,400-MW Suralaya power plant in Banten starting June this year.

PTBA?s Corporate Secretary Eko Budhiwijayanto said on Friday that Suralaya would pay Rp 544,750 (US$=Rp 9,325) per ton CIF for the coal, compared to Rp 484,000 per ton in January-May, 2008 period.

PTBA agreed to ship 5.1 million tons of coal to Suralaya this year.

Suralaya is a unit of PT Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN). (godang)
