PTBA, Indonesia Power to build mine-mouth power plant in S. Sumatra

State coal mining firm PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) and state electricity company PT Indonesia Power are making preparations to jointly build a mine-mouth power plant in South Sumatra, PTBA president director Ismet Harmaini said Monday.
The 2x100 megawatt-plant will be located in Lahat Regency in South Sumatra, Ismet said in company?s annual shareholders meeting.
PTBA will hold a 24-percent stake in the new power plant, while the remaining 76 percent will go to Indonesia Power and Italian firm Lemeriti.
Ismet said they were trying to seek funding for the project.
PTBA, which is listed on the Jakarta Stock Exhange and Indonesia?s major coal producer, operates coalmines in South Sumatra and West Sumatra.
Indonesia power is a unit of state electricity firm PLN. (godang)
