PTBA names contractor to build mine-mouth power plant

State-owned coal miner PT.Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) has named the consortium of China Overseas and PT Weltes Energi Nusantara as engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) contractor to build a 3x10 MW mine-mouth power plant in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatera.
The power plant is aimed to secure reliable supply of electricity for its coal mining operation, PTBA said in statement on Thursday.
The construction of the power plant is expected to be completed in 24 months and full operation is expected to start in April 2011, PTBA said.
The company has also appointed Black & Veatch as consultant to supervise the project. (denny)
