PTBA optimistis Banjarsari power plant to operate in Q3 2014

IDX-listed coal miner PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) said that the progress of construction of the 2x110 MW Banjarsari coal-fired power plant in Lahat, South Sumatra, has reached 52 percent of the target.

The company said that it was optimistic for the power plant to be able to start operation in the third quarter of 2014. This was revealed in the company?s recent first-semester report.

PTBA is the sole supplier of coal for the power plant at a volume of 1.15 million tons per year.

The US$239 million Banjarsari plant is 59.75 percent owned by PTBA, 29.15 percent by PT Pembangkit Jawa Bali, and the rest by PT Navigat Innovative Indonesia.
