PTBA passes PQ in tender to build Sumatra mine-mouth power plants

State-owned coal miner PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) and partners passed the pre-qualification (PQ) process of the tender to build three mine-mouth power plants in Sumatra and one coal-fired power plant on Madura island, East Java under independent power producers (IPP) scheme.
PTBA passed PQ for tender to build 2 x 300 MW Sumatra Selatan-6 mine mouth power plant, 2 x 600 MW Sumatra Selatan-8 mine mouth power plant, 2 x 300 MW Riau mine-mouth power plant and 2 x 200 MW Madura coal-fired power plant, PTBA president director Sukrisno said on Friday.
He did not identify the partners and nor provide more details about thier bids.
In earlier PLN?s announcement, the winner of the tender will be given rights to operate the plant for 25 years under build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) scheme. (bernard)
