PTBA, Pathway in coal transportation talks

State coal mining firm PT.Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) is in talks with PT. Pathway International to transport 20 million tonnes of coal from its mine in South Sumatra to Bengkulu.
CEO Soekrisno told reporters on Tuesday that the consortium, which comprised of national and international firms, plans to build 256-km railway from PTBA?s mine in Muara Enim in South Sumatra to Pulau Baai port in Bengkulu.
According to Soekrisno, the company and the consortium are currently finalizing the detail of the deal, including transportation cost.
He said Pathway plans to complete the railway in six years. (alex)
