PTBA, PLN in spot coal supply deal

State electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrk Negara (PLN) and IDX-listed state coal miner PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) have reached 200,000 tonnes spot coal supply deal with first shipment expected to start this month, a PLN senior official said on Wednesday.
Director Nur Pamudji told reporters that PTBA will supply 50,000 tonnes of coal per month to PLN?s power plants until December with calorific value of 4,200kcal/kg (AR).
He did not give further detail, but said coal from PTBA will be used to back-up inventories at several power plants which suppliers failed to make timely deliveries.(bernard)
