State owned coal mining company PT Bukit Asam (PTBA) is teaming up with state-owned fertilizer company PT Pupuk Sriwijaya (Pusri) to develop a coal gasification project in South Sumatra.
?We?re currently in the state of feasibility study by appointing PT Rekayasa Industri. The gas will be produced from liquefied coal. The gas will supply the needs of Pusri,? PTBA President Director Milawarma told Petromindo.com on Tuesday.
Milawarman said that the two companies are still seeking the right technology to develop the coal gasification project. ?We?re still looking for proven and feasible technology. We?re also still calculating the commercial scale of the project. This will be one of the tasks of our consultant,? he said, adding that the size of the required financing will depend on the results of the feasibility study.
