PTBA?s Bukit Kendi produces 802,000 tons of coal in 2002

South Sumatra-based coalminer PT Bukit Kendi, a subsidiary of state coal mining firm PT Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA), produced 802,000 tons of coal in 2002, up from the 800,000 ton target, local daily Palembang Post reported Monday.
Bukit Kendi president director Munandar Sai Sohar was quoted as saying that production in 2003 was targeted at 800,000 tons.
The company, 75 percent owned by PTBA, operates an open pit coal mine in Muara Enim regency in South Sumatra province. (*)
