PTBA?s production up 20% in 2015
Targets to increase output by 34% in 2016

Of the 2015 output, 18.54 million tons or 20 percent was sourced from its Tanjung Enim mine in South Sumatra, up from 15.50 million tons in the previous year; 0.68 million tons from its subsidiary PT Internasional Prima Coal (IPC) in East Kalimantan and 0.02 million tons from its Ombilin mine in South Sumatra.
Besides, the firm through its subsidiary PT Bukit Asam Prima (BAP) bought 1.46 million tons from third parties.
In total, the firm?s output and purchasing reached 20.70 million tons in 2015, up 14 percent from 18.8 million tons in the previous year.
Last year?s sales reached 19.17 million tons, up 7 percent from 17.96 million tons in the previous year. As many as 10.13 million tons or 53 percent were sold on the domestic market, up 9 percent from 9.30 million tons in the previous year; and the rest or 9.04 million tons on the export markets.
The increase in production and sales happened at the time the price of the commodity continued to decline. The firm was able to maintain a relatively good financial performance thanks to efficiency measures.
For 2016, the firm targets to produce 25.75 million tons, up 34 percent, with Tanjung Enim mine expected to contribute 24.7 million tons, IPC 0.93 million tons and Ombilin 0.06 million tons and the Peranap mine in Indragiri Hulu, Riau 0.06 million tons.
Meanwhile, BAP is projected to buy 2.57 million tons up 76 percent. The firm?s production and purchasing is thus projected to reach 28.32 million tons, up 37 percent.
Meanwhile, 2016 sales are expected to reach 29.17 million tons or 52 percent, including 15.17 million tons on domestic market and 14 million tons or 48 percent for exports.
