PTBA?s unit secures loan to build power plant

State coal mining firm PT.Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) announced on Monday that its power plant JV PT.Bukit Pembangkit Innovative (BPI) has secured Rp.1.64 trillion (US$= RP9,150) from Bank Mandiri and Bank Ekspor Indonesia.

The loan will be used to finance construction of 2x100-MW minemouth power plant in Banjarsari, South Sumatra.

PTBA has 41 percent stake in BPI.

BPI has appointed Chinese firm Jiannxi Electric Power Overseas as contractor to build the power plant and PT. Cita Contract as transmission developer. (denny)
