PTBA says CBM concession may have 0.8TCF of gas

IDX-listed state coal mining firm PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) said that desk study showed that its CBM exploration area in South Sumatra has the potential to host 0.8 TCF of gas.
President Director told a parliamentary hearing in Jakarta on Wednesday that the CBM concession, which is located within its mine concession, could produce 50 MMCFD starting 2013.
The block?s partnership has yet drilled a single well in the concession.
PTBA, together with PT Pertamina EP each has 27.5 percent interest in the Tanjung Enim block with Australian firm Arrow Energy, which is the block?s operator, has the remaining balance.
The block was awarded in 2009.
Arrow, Pertamina and PTBA have agreed to a six-well exploration program due to commence in March 2010, Arrow said in October 2009. (alex)
