IDX-listed state coal-mining firm PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) said production stoppage at its South Sumatra unit PT Batubara Bukit Kendi (BBK) would not significantly affect the company?s this year?s sales target of 15-16 million tonnes.

Corporate Secretary Achmad Sudarto told Petromindo.Com on Friday that the company maintained production target of 14 million from its own mines and 1-2 million tonnes from trading activities this year.

According to him, BBK produced 800,000 tonnes of coal annually, all of which was sold to domestic market such as PLN?s Tarahan power plant in Lampung and Suralaya power plant in Banten.

BBK is forced to stop production as police considered the company operating without valid forestry permit.(denny)
