PTBA sees increasing coal sales in 2011

IDX-listed state coal miner PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) plans to increase 2011 sales to 16.8 million tones from the planned sales of 14 million tones this year, President Director Sukrisno said on Thursday.
Coal sold by its trading unit in 2011 will remain similar to this year's volume of 1 million tonnes, he said.
Sukrisno said production would reach 16.6 million tones next year, including 1 million tones from its IPC mine in East Kalimantan from 900,000 tones planned this year.
Railway transport capacity would also increase to 13.6 million tones next year from 11 million tones this year, he said.
Sukrisno also said that the company would complete feasibility study, which is undertaken in cooperation with German firm Lurgi GmbH to develop its huge low-rank coal deposit in Pranap, Riau province into methanol, by the end of the year.(denny)
