State-owned coal miner PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) and PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) have agreed to set a new price for the coal supplied to the state-owned electricity company's 4 x 65 MW Bukit Asam-coal fired power plant in South Sumatra.
PTBA corporate secretary Eko Budhiwijayanto said on Thursday that the new price had been fixed at Rp 325,000 (US$1=Rp 9,320) per ton FOB, 26.5 percent higher than the Rp 257,000 per ton set for 2007.
PTBA also agreed to supply 1.1 million tons of coal to the Bukit Asam power plant in 2008, he said.
PTBA has a 10-year contract to supply the power plant, with price adjusted annually. (denny)
