PTBA, Suralaya settle 2007 coal price

State coal mining firm PT. Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) said it had reached deal to increase its coal price to Indonesia Power’s Suralaya power plant by 6.6 percent for 2007.

The company’s CEO Soekrisno told Petromindo.Com that Suralaya would pay Rp.374, 900 (US$=RP.9,100) for each tonne of 5,900 kcal/kg CV coal supplied by PTBA on CIF basis. PTBA will supply 5.1 million tonnes of coal this year, Soekrisno said in an interview on Tuesday.

In 2006, contract price for Suralaya was set at Rp.351, 700 per tonne.

During January-July period, PTBA has supplied 2.44 million tonnes of coal to 3,400-MW Suralaya, a PTBA statement filed with the JSX on Monday said. (godang)
