The state-owned coal producer PT Bukit Asam Tbk is negotiating the price with a foreign buyer from Taiwan which planned to purchase some 2.5 million tonnes of coal in 2012.

PTBA's President Director Milawarma said it would still wait for the release of international index of coal price to determine the agreeable price with Taiwan Plastic.

"Our (new) potential buyer is Taiwan Plastic. The company is ready to buy 2.5 million tonnes. But it seems the coal sales contract would be made on annual basis," Milawarma told Petromindo.com

So far Bukit Asam has Japan, Malaysia, India and China as its traditional export destinations, and it is aiming to book 18.6 million tons total coal sales this year with some 35 percent of it to foreign buyers.
