PTBA to complete Tarahan port expansion in 2013
Railway projects make progress

Once completed, the port, which is located in Lampung province, will be able to load 25 million tonnes of coal per annum. It will also have an additional pier that will be able to serve vessel of 150,000 DWT capacity.
The company has appointed PT Krakatau Engineering-China Huadian consortium as the project?s EPC contractor.
PTBA also reported that its new coal railway projects are ongoing.
The Tanjung Enim to Tarahan railway project has completed engineering and alignment design stage and has been approved by 8 regencies where the railway line will be constructed. The design has been submitted to Lampung and South Sumatra provincial administrations with approvals expected in the third quarter of 2011. Land acquisition will be carried out once approvals from provinces are secured, the company said.
PTBA is teaming up with Indonesian conglomerate Rajawali Group and Chinese firm China Railway Engineering to carry out this project.
The other railway project that will connect Tanjung Enim to Tanjung Api-Api with capacity of 35 million tonnes per annum is currently undergoing detailed feasibility study. The project?s construction is expected to be competed in 3-4 years? time, said the company.
PTBA is teaming up with Indian firm Adani Group in the project. (alex)
