IDX-listed coal and energy company PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) expects to be able to sign with state-owned electricity firm PT PLN this month amendment of the power purchase agreement (PPA) for the planned 2x260 MW Sumsel-8 coal-fired mine mouth power plant in South Sumatra Province.

PTBA President Director Arviyan Arifin said on Friday that the revision of the PPA was needed as the commercial operation date (COD) status of the project has been delayed. As has been previously reported, completion of the Sumsel-8 has been delayed to 2021 from the initial plan of 2019 due to a number problems. ?The PPA is amended to the delay in the COD,? he said.

PLN President Director earlier this week said that the company was hoping to sign this month PPAs for six mine mouth plant projects in Sumatra and Kalimantan with combined capacity of 1,500 MW.
