PTBA to start trial production from underground mine

IDX-listed state coal mining firm PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam TBk (PTBA) said it has signed cooperation agreement with an undisclosed Indonesian firm to develop its underground coal reserves in Ombilin, West Sumatra
Corporate Secretary Achmad Sudarto told Petromindo.Com on Friday that trial production is expected to commence this year with production of 1 million tonnes per annum could be achieved starting 2011.
He said currently equipments and experts from China have started to arrive at Ombilin.
The mine will produce coal with CV of above 7,000 kcal/kg with mineable reserves of around 20 million tonnes.(denny)
