PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) President Director Rozik Soetjipto was confident of reaching agreement on wage talks with workers soon, and hopeful to sign a new contract with the workers union in mid of October.

Rozik told Petromindo.com on the sidelines of the APEC CEO Summit in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Sunday that there would be no more demonstrations by workers as all problems ?have been addressed.?

Freeport, which operates a large gold and copper mine in Papua, has been engaged in a protracted wage negotiation with workers, who have been demanding for a pay hike. The two sides failed to reach an agreement by the September deadline, extending the talks into October.
