PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK), a shipping subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, said it has added seven new vessels worth US$49.9 million to its existing fleet.

The company said in a statement Sunday that the new vessels included two Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels, and five harbor tugs.

It added that the vessels were handed over Friday by shipyard firms PT Batamec and PT Dry Dock World Pertama.

?The seven new vessels will strengthen the core business of PTK as a subsidiary of Pertamina. The revenue target for the seven vessels is about $9 million in 2015,? said Marketing Director of Pertamina Ahmad Bambang.

He added that the new vessels will replace Pertamina?s aging vessels.

Meanwile, PKT President Director Subagjo Hari Moeljanto said that the AHTS vessels will provide revenue of $9,000 per day per vessel, while Harbor Tug vessels will each provide revenue of $3,400 per day.

The two AHTS vessels will be deployed in the Balikapapan waters serving Total E&P Indonesia, while Harbor Tug vessels will be operated in the operational area of Marine Pertamina at the Pertamina oil and gas terminal under a long-term contract.

PKT currently operates 27 vessels.
