?The wastes transported by vessel MV Red Rock Voyage were used oil and other wastes that have secured permit to be shipped to licensed in-country recycling facilities belonging to third parties,? said Syarafuddin Jarot, Social Responsibility Manager of the company in a statement.
PTNNT said it always runs its operations in a responsible manner in compliance with the government?s regulations on environmental stewardship, including management of wastes under strict monitoring. The company also regularly submits reports to relevant government agencies, including Ministry of Environment & Forestry (MoEF) and Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR).
?Recently we have been awarded Aditama Gold from MEMR on environmental management and Blue PROPER rating from the MoEF who considers that PTNNT has met all environmental management and social responsibility standards and regulations,? added Jarot.
The provincial administration of NTB confiscated 17 containers from the MV Red Rock on Tuesday for inspection following allegations that all the containers contain toxic waste materials that would be discharged by the company in the NTB waters.
