State-owned construction firm PT PP (Persero) Tbk (IDX: PTPP) has secured a Rp1.02 trillion contract to build the Pulau Laut Bridge in South Kalimantan, as part of efforts to improve regional connectivity.
The project will be executed under a joint operation scheme, with PTPP acting as the lead contractor holding a 50% stake, the company said in a statement on Friday.
The contract was signed on March 30 in Banjarbaru with the South Kalimantan Public Works and Spatial Planning Office, in the presence of regional officials including Governor H. Muhidin.
Construction is scheduled to take 1,005 calendar days, followed by a 730-day maintenance period.

The bridge, located in Batulicin District, Tanah Bumbu Regency, is expected to improve access between mainland Kalimantan and Pulau Laut, supporting logistics distribution, mobility and economic activity in Tanah Bumbu and Kotabaru regencies.
PTPP said the project would strengthen its infrastructure portfolio, particularly in connectivity development, and reaffirm its role as a lead contractor for large-scale projects.
“This project reflects the continued trust placed in PTPP to deliver strategic infrastructure, particularly as a lead contractor,” Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo said.
He added the company aims to complete the project on schedule while maintaining quality and safety standards to ensure benefits for local communities.
The Pulau Laut Bridge is part of a broader multi-year development program for 2026–2028 aimed at enhancing interregional connectivity in South Kalimantan.
