Purbaya named as new OPEC governor representing RI

Interim Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Luhut Panjaitan has named Purbaya Yudi Sadewa as the new governor of OPEC representing Indonesia, replacing Widhyawan Prawiraatmadja.
Secretary General of the ministry Teguh Pamudji was quoted by Katadata.co.id as saying that the ministry has sent a letter to OPEC on the appointment of Purbaya as the new governor representing Indonesia.
He added that OPEC is expected to convene in November to decide on the appointment of Purbaya, a graduate of Purdue University in the US, and a former deputy at the Presidential Staff Office.
Indonesia was officially readmitted by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) during the organization?s ministerial meeting on Dec. 4, 2015 in Vienna. Widhyawan was the first governor representing Indonesia after the country reentered OPEC. (*)
