Purnomo denies Pertamina top job shake-up

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro on Sunday denied rumors that the president of the state-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina Baihaki Hakim would be replaced in January 2002.

?There is no plan to replace Baihaki,? said Purnomo via phone interview from Cairo.

Rumors have been rife that Baihaki Hakim would be replaced by former downstream director of Pertamina Harry Purnomo or by former upstream director Gatot K. Wiroyudo on January 10, 2002.

Purnomo, however, could not confirm if other Pertamina directors would be replaced.

Other than Baihaki, Pertamina currently has five directors; Muchsin Bahar, downstream director, Effendi Sitomurang, director of production sharing management, Iin Arifin Takhyan, upstream director, Ainun Na?im, director of finance and Bardi Machraman, director of development. (godang)
