Purnomo meets ExxonMobil top official this evening

Senior official from American energy giant Exxon Mobil Corp headquarter is scheduled to meet minister of energy and mineral resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro this evening on the possible resumption of the company?s gas operations in Lhoksukon, Aceh.

Purnomo told reporters that he and K. T. Koonce, president of ExxonMobil Production Company would meet at 7 P.M today (Wednesday) at the ministry.

ExxonMobil was forced to shut down its gas operation in Arun fields in March due to worsening security condition in Aceh, where separatist rebels have been fighting for independence for decades

Government and Pertamina has pressed ExxonMobil to resume its gas operations early next month.

ExxonMobil has admitted that it has been making preparations for the resumption of gas operations. (godang)
