Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro Wednesday met with senior military and police officers and executives of oil and gas and mining firms to discuss the current situation in the country following last week?s bloody bomb last in a Jakarta?s five-star hotel.

They include officials of oil and gas producers like Caltex Pacific Indonesia, Unocal Indonesia and BP Indonesia; and mining firms coal producers Kideco Jaya Agung and Arutmin Indonesia. The chairman of Indonesia Mining Association, BN Wahju, is also attending the meeting.

?Actually, this meeting is meant to materialize the cooperation already signed between BPMIGAS and the Armed Forces and National Police,? BPMIGAS chairman Rachmat Sudibjo told reporters shortly before attending the meeting at Purnomo?s office. BPMIGAS is Indonesia?s upstream oil and gas authority.

A car bomb exploded last Tuesday in a JW Mariot hotel in central Jakarta, killing at least 10 people and inured more than 100. (godang)
