Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro said on Wednesday he is optimistic Indonesia will win the long term contract to supply 3.5 million tons per year of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to China.
?I should say I am very optimistic,? Purnomo told a parliamentary hearing on Wednesday.
BP Indonesia, Australian LNG Pty Ltd and Qatar?s Ras Laffan are short listed bidders for supplying the 3.5 million tons of LNG to a terminal in Guandong province in southern China.
While it remains unclear exactly when China will announce the tender winner, Purnomo said on Wednesday Australia had just offered China new gas prices under the LNG supply tender. (Godang)
