Purnomo to attend OPEC meeting April 24

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro said Thursday that he had received notification of an emergency meeting of OPEC and would attend the conference on April 24.
?I have received a notification letter from OPEC for an emergency meeting on April 24. I will attend it,? Purnomo told reporters.
Purnomo said that they would discuss oversupply of oil in the world market.
OPEC, which controls 40 percent of the world oil exports, had initially planned to meet in June.
OPEC has set a band between US$22 and $28 for its basket of crude oil.
Indonesia?s production quota is 1.27 million barrels per day (BPD). In March, it pumped just over one million BPD.
Indonesian oil prices have averaged around $31 a barrel over the past few months. (godang)
