Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy Purnomo Yusgiantoro and president of the state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina Baihaki Hakim would visit China next week in a bid to sell liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Tangguh field in West Papua.
"We'll visit China latter this month," Purnomo said on Wednesday.
He said that a new LNG terminal had been developed in Guandong province in China, and it was expected to get part of its LNG need from the Tangguh Field.
"We expect the Tangguh field to be able to start supplying LNG to the Guandong terminal by 2004," Purnomo said.(Godang)
