Pusaka Berau to add 14 MW capacity for Lati mine-mouth power plant

PT Indonesia Pusaka Berau plans to add 14 MW electricity generation capacity in a mine-mouth power plant in Berau regency in East Kalimantan, a company official said.

The firm expects to complete the expansion of its Lati mine-mouth power plant, which supplies electricity for Berau regency in East Kalimantan, in 2012, said Choeruddin Noer, the firms Finance Director.

It will need total investment of Rp 140 billion. The additional generating capacity will be inaugurated in August 2012, said Choeruddin.

The Lati mine-mouth power plant currently has capacity to generate 14 MW of electricity and it was built in 2005.

PT Berau Coal Energy will double coal supply for the power plant next year to 200,000 tonnes a year in line with the additional generating capacity, said Bintoro Prabowo, Berau Coal?s spokesman.
